The Parish we serve includes residential areas as well as the busy retail area of the Kingdom Shopping Centre. The congregation is generally all from the area, but due to the rapid growth of the town, some people have moved to different areas of Fife and still come to worship at St Columba’s. We are a friendly Church family and cover age groups from under a year old, all the way to 100.
St Columba’s Church believe that all people have equal value in God’s eyes and all are welcome at St Columba’s.
The Community and Wider World group of the Kirk Session aims to look at, develop and sustain our relationship outside the church family in the local community and the wider world.
Since we began in 2014 we have summarised and brought to the attention of the church family the various groups and areas of the community and wider world that we currently support or are active in, and put together an insert for the Church’s newsletter.
Looking ahead we are planning to provide different ways to support those who use our facilities and strengthen our relationship with them.
We also have a partnership with a church overseas in Chuluchosema, Malawi and we have visited Chuluchosema and hosted a visit for people from Chuluchosema.
Over the last few years, we have been working closely with the other Church of Scotland congregations as part of the Glenrothes Area Covenanted Partnership.
