The Parish we serve includes residential areas as well as the busy retail area of the Kingdom Shopping Centre. The congregation is generally all from the area, but due to the rapid growth of the town, some people have moved to different areas of Fife and still come to worship at St Columba’s. We are a friendly Church family and cover age groups from under a year old, all the way to 100.
St Columba’s Church believe that all people have equal value in God’s eyes and all are welcome at St Columba’s.
The Community and Wider World group of the Kirk Session aims to look at, develop and sustain our relationship outside the church family in the local community and the wider world.
Since we began in 2014 we have summarised and brought to the attention of the church family the various groups and areas of the community and wider world that we currently support or are active in, putting together an insert for the Church’s newsletter.
From this group we will create a stakeholders register to help us serve the local community (and this includes users of our halls) in the best way possible with the resources that we have. Looking ahead we are planning to provide different ways to support those who use our facilities and strengthen our relationship with them.
We also have a partnership with a church overseas in Chuluchosema, Malawai and that some of our congregation has been out to visit and signed the partnership agreement. We are now awaiting a return visit from the congregation in Malawi.
