The Kirk Session and Congregational Board of St Columba’s have a Data Protection policy. This policy was established in 2014 and we are establishing processes and procedures to ensure that all personal data is held and processed in accordance with the relevant legislation and best practice.
We try to keep the level of personal data we hold to a minimum and we don’t pass on data to other companies or organisations or make information publicly available except as far as is necessary for things like:
- displaying rotas of people carrying out duties in the church,
- processing Gift Aid claims,
- providing contact information for office bearers through the newsletter and website,
- allowing the presbytery and other church contacts to communicate with office bearers.
St Columba’s Church of Scotland, Glenrothes is registered with the Data Protection Register as part of the Presbytery of Kirkcaldy.
This is a copy of the Data Protection Policy. St Columba’s – Data Protection Policy v1
